Morning
The cool breeze danced across his skin as he cracked his eyes for the first time that morning, allowing the tiniest peeks of sunlight to filter in. The haze and bleariness of dawn begged him to retreat under the covers, asking for just a few more minutes. He would allow himself this indulgence, but only under certain circumstances; he stretched out his arm and found her, curled on her side of their perfect nest, one with the blankets. The man inched his body closer, out stretching his arm at the same time, pulling her closer. The woman yawned while releasing a semi-audible “mmm” as she vacated her personal cocoon to join him. He pulled her close into his warmth, their bodies meeting at the perfect angle, every limb intertwined, fingers laced, his arm holding her protectively while she tucked her head just below his chin, becoming enveloped in the strong softness she so adored. Together they stayed, perfectly harbored from the world, perfect in their perfection together. Two become one.
